Don’t pay the Ferryman

The longer version of one of my favourite rides, out east along the Thames. A short road section from the City takes us to the segregated cycle path on Cable Street, and from there onto the riverside Thames Path …

We cycle the north side to Greenwich, then under the Foot Tunnel and continuing east on the south side of the path. Past the O2 and Thames Barrier to Woolwich, where another brief road section takes us to the (free) ferry.

Roads on the south side past London City Airport to the Royal Victoria Docks, where we take the cablecar back to the O2. Cake stop there, then retrace our route, replacing some of the fiddlier path with backroads. 28 miles in all.
